We had a task to present two of our best film concepts to the class. The one the class picked would be the one we choose to do the trailer on.
CONCEPT 1 - MAZED
CONCEPT 2 - POWERCUT
HORROR TRAILER CONCEPT FEEDBACK
These feedback sheets were written by the different groups in the class. While presenting our two concepts the groups had to make note of the positive aspects of it and what to improve on.
IN THE END THE CLASS CHOSE.................
YES! Concept 1 'Mazed' will be the film our trailer is based on.
TREATMENT
The treatment involves making a large poster which represents our horror film clearing using bold titles and images.
FILM TITLEThe title of the film was placed in the centre of the poster to make clear to everyone what the title was. The design of the title was done free hand with black and red affects of colour to make it look different. Underneath the title is the tagline of the film using a lighter font for 'every' and ' for' and a bolder font for 'man' and 'himself', this simply makes it more eye catching and the colours go well together.
With the title and tagline is our team logo to represent the group while other aspects of the film will be on the poster. |
SYNOPSISThe synopsis was slightly rewritten compared to the one shown on the power point. However the main details are kept the same. Here we gave a very brief introduction to what Courtney (protagonist) and David Anderson (antagonist) are like.
|
CHARACTERSThese are the character profiles for all the characters in the film. Using Propp's Theory each have brief restrictions. The first two characters are the main characters, Courtney the protagonist and David Anderson the antagonist (although it's titled The Andersons). The last three character profiles are stock characters, the characters that get their few minutes in the film before they get killed.

TODOROV'S THEORY |
SUB-GENRE/THEME |
TARGET AUDIENCE |
FILM INFLUENCES |
Information on Todorov's theory is vital in making a horror film. The horror film is broken into 3 sections the equilibrium (beginning), the disequilibrium (middle) and the resolution (end).
|
This is just a little section of the treatment with a photo portraying the sub-genre which which is thriller. The theme is survival which is appropriate considering the story line of everyone trying not to be eaten alive.
|
The 18 certificate was printed out largely for people to instantly be drawn to it once they start reading that section. The information given shows that the film is definitely suited for 18 years and up
|
We generally wanted film influences that contain cannibalism just because that is the main feature our film involves. The first film is 'We Are What We Are' and the second film is 'Cannibal'. Both happen to be Spanish set films and both illustrate a calm first before the cannibalism.
